GVTV, in partnership with The Lanthorn and Whale Radio, is hosting the first annual Lakers for a Cure Telethon. The telethon is an event to help raise money for GVSU’s 2013 Relay For Life. GVTV will be broadcasting LIVE from the Kirkhof Center on the Allendale campus from 8pm-10pm on Thursday, March 28th. The two-hour show will consist of entertainment acts by Grand Valley students, including music, comedy, and more. The show will also showcase guest speakers who have been affected by cancer and a representative from Colleges Against Cancer.

The goal is to raise $2,400 in 24 hours! Although the telethon will only be a two-hour program, donations will be accepted starting at 10pm on Wednesday night (3/27) until the end of the telethon at 10pm on Thursday night (3/28). Donations can be made in several ways. A PayPal account will be activated during the 24 hour period for those who wish to donate electronically. GVTV, The Lanthorn, and Whale Radio will also have tables set-up in Kirkhof throughout the day on Thursday for those who wish to donate by cash or check.
